Think reinventing yourself is impossible? Well, you’re never ‘too old’ or ‘over the hill’ for anything!

Take Fit Mother Gayla, a wife, mother, and grandmother who’s about to turn 70 years young.

And we mean ‘young’ because, as you’ll soon find out, Gayla has been reinventing herself and aging backward while on the Fit Mother Project!

Not only has she dropped well over 30 pounds and gained new muscle, but she's also noticing that her hair, formerly a beautiful silvery color, is starting to get dark roots and reverting back to a previous darker color.

Plus, she’s feeling so much more vibrant and full of vitality.

She's snowboarding, keeping up with her grandkids, shoveling snow, chopping wood, and doing all the Fit Mother workouts.

Best of all, she’s found a sustainable lifestyle and way of living that works for HER.

It just goes to show you that it's never too late to take your life and health back.

Wanting To Keep Up With Her Family

According to Gayla, she was always active and loved to walk. 

But as life got in the way, her health and fitness began to fall by the wayside.

She tried several health and fitness programs, but nothing worked for her.

Gayla shares that while living with her mother, she managed to bring her weight down from 200 pounds to 171 pounds, but her methods were not right.

“She was elderly and difficult to feed. I had to tend to her needs at her beck and call. So, I stopped eating with her and decided it wasn't so bad. If I'm not hungry, I won't eat. It became my motto. But I was stuck, and nothing was going anywhere else.”

Gayla has a big family comprising her children and grandchildren.

Since she had lots to do around the house and had to constantly keep up with everyone and everything, she wanted to be in the best of shape. 

“As a family, we do a lot of things together. I needed to do something to keep up. I was tired of always being the slow, ‘huffer-puffer' everybody waited for. So I wanted to get with it.”

She learned about the Fit Mother Project through her son, who is a member of the Fit Father Project

Gayla saw her son making huge progress and deriving great benefits, so she wanted to do the same.

“I watched my son lose 70 pounds and look different than I'd ever seen him. As a kid, he was skinny but a bit too much as an adult. So he developed muscles and a six-pack and got fit and trim with the FFP. I saw his transformation and begged him for the details of the program.”

Reinventing Yourself

Gayla’s mission statement was to stick around with her family for as long as possible. 

“My mission statement was to live at altitude so I could spend as many years around my kids and grandkids as I can.”

Gayla dove into the program's nutrition and workout plan and found it was just what she was looking for.

“I liked that I could choose my own foods within easy parameters in this program. And I have discovered that the exercises actually lessen the pain of an old shoulder injury and strengthen them.”

Gayle also derived some amazing benefits from the program, some of which she didn't even expect. 

“I lost 22 pounds in 13 weeks. I got stronger, and my husband and I worked out together. I've got hair coming in now that has come all the way down, and it's black. It's great because I've never had black hair.”

And, she's seen great non-scale victories like her ability to snowboard with her grandkids and have a great time with her family.

“Follow the food plan. It's not complicated. You can follow it or adapt it to your needs. Food prep is the most important thing. You can't buy the foods you're not supposed to eat and expect to stay out of them. So have the right things in your house. Drink water because hydration is key for feeling good, and stick with fasting for the sweet non-scale victories.”
