Changing your life trajectory starts from within, and then finding a sustainable path to health and fitness.
Fit Mother Eve was looking for ways to reverse her health history, but she ended up finding so much more.
Eve is a wife, mother, and grandmother who initially joined the Fit Mother Project to improve her health parameters.
After a recent visit to the doctor, she found that she was going to have to be put on a third blood pressure medication.
That, coupled with her parents’ history of health issues, made Eve really start to look at the trajectory her life was taking, and she decided enough was enough.
As she was researching ways to fix things, she came across the Fit Mother Project and liked what she saw.
So, she joined the program, and boy, was she in for a treat!
She’s lost over 20 pounds and gotten stronger and more consistent with her health and fitness habits.
Her menopause symptoms have improved, and she feels so much better and happier, on track with a sustainable plan she can stick to.
Listen to Eve's Story on the Fit Mother Project Podcast:
A History of Bad Health
Coming from a military background, Eve was no stranger to fitness.
She was a powerlifter and threw the 20-pound hammer, and she also ran track and played soccer.
“Because of my military background, I’m used to working out with men, and I actually prefer so. They have a different kind of flow. And I was also used to working out with them because that’s what I did on the powerlifting team.”
Still, Eve had a family history of poor health.
As she got older, her own health and fitness fell by the wayside, and things got worse.
“Both my parents have high blood pressure. I don’t know if it’s necessarily hereditary, but I do know that by following someone’s example of becoming sedentary and eating the same foods as when you were young, and your body metabolizes food at a different pace, you get the same results.”
Eve dealt with weight problems for the majority of her adulthood.
She was also transitioning through menopause and was not taking it well.
“I felt out of control. My body felt like I was swelling uncontrollably. I was facing a lot of challenges related to menopause.”
A hysterectomy also came with its own share of complications, as did three other abdominal surgeries.
Plus, her health conditions were exacerbated by several old injuries from her military days.
“I’ve had lots of injuries. Being in the military, I have some very specific injuries you just don’t get unless you are in the military. For example, I have some injuries related to jumping out of a plane.”

Changing Your Life Trajectory
Eve knew she needed to do something, but she couldn't work out like she did in her younger days.
She also didn't know how to properly dial in her nutrition.
As she was searching for answers, she found the Fit Mother Project and found an instant connection to it.
“As I watched one of Dr. Anthony’s videos, I realized he’s a medical and real doctor, not like Dr. Pepper. That made me smile and receive the information more easily because you have had training. What also drew me in was the way you talk to your listeners without having a condescending tone.”
Eve, like many other mothers, didn't choose an unfit and unhealthy lifestyle.
She was just putting herself on the back burner as she focused on her family.
She soon learned that she couldn't take care of her family if she wasn't taking care of herself.
The Fit Mother Project helped her do that and bring it all together.
“I needed a structure, and I’m sure that’s because of my military background. I don’t like guessing. I like knowing what I am supposed to do, and this program gave me that. You were telling everything like a coach. It was extremely helpful.”
Even though her military-conditioned mindset was based on the ideology of constantly and unconditionally pushing ahead, she credits the Fit Mother Project for encouraging her to go at her own pace.
“I didn’t know that I needed that encouragement. Typically, in the military, they just say, shut up and push; keep it moving. But I realized that it was extremely helpful to have that encouragement. I can’t think of any other program that I’ve ever come across that has that as a component.”
Drawing tons of inspiration from the ladies on the Fit Mother Project Sisterhood Facebook group, Eve pulled herself back on track after she fell off it.
She kept the nutrition and workouts to the rhythm and style of her preferences, which made them easy for her.
Eve found journaling quite helpful and used it to plan out her day-to-day fitness routine.
And her husband’s comments about her skin made her believe the program was working better for her than she thought.
“As I have incorporated drinking water, doing the meal prep, and eating well, I’ve discovered that my skin feels better. My husband even said that my skin is softer. I was surprised because my husband doesn’t really make a whole lot of comments like that.”
Eve discovered that the more she followed the Fit Mother Project, the more she could isolate the things that were problematic for her.
She lost 20 pounds, and her menopausal symptoms are less intense than ever.
“Medically, my cholesterol went down 49 points in one area and 51 in another. My creatinine went from 1.04 to 0.85, finally in the normal range. And I’ve also discovered that this program doesn’t just help with weight. My whole blood profile is different, and overall health has improved.”
She sleeps well and can stay away from her triggers, like sweets.
“The foods that I love do not control me anymore.”
Besides the physical benefits, she also experienced a positive mental shift in her life.
“I was of the mindset that I could exercise everything away because I didn’t want to change what I ate. This program helped me get away from that mindset. I realized that I can’t just exercise and eat like a crazy person and expect to feel good.”
So what would Eve say to someone looking to join the Fit Mother Project?
“The program consistently says that you cannot exercise your way out of a bad diet. When you drink water, eat right, exercise right, and sleep right, your foundation changes for the better, which goes on to change your whole life.”
3 Key Takeaways From Eve's Journey
To summarize, here are three key lessons you can learn from Eve’s successful health and fitness journey:
Lesson 1: Find Your ‘Why'
There will be days when you fall off track.
There will be days when motivation is hard to come by.
On those days, you need to remember your why.
Why are you on this journey? What do you have to live for?
Count your blessings, think of your loved ones, and keep moving forward!
Lesson 2: You Can’t Out-Exercise a Bad Diet
The belief that you can continue eating unhealthy food as long as you are working out is problematic.
Nutrition is key.
To be fit and healthy, your diet, workout, and overall lifestyle must be in line.
Lesson 3: You Can Beat Hereditary
Eve admits to not wanting to follow in the footsteps of her parents in terms of health.
Sometimes, heredity can be tough to overcome.
But, the lifestyle you choose is what will really enhance your health condition or deteriorate it.
